Ah Sing is one of the founding members of Kusala Education and is currently the Organisations’s Academic Director (Language and Culture). He is preparing for a PhD in Buddhist Studies/Philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He holds a Master of Science degree in Cognitive Science from the Universität Osnabrück and a Bachelor of Arts degree (double major in Music and Linguistics, First Class Honours) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
During his secondary school years, Ah Sing thought about becoming a professional saxophonist, but now he is committed to fostering cross-cultural and cross-traditional dialogues and exploring human experience through the lens of philosophy, cognitive science, and Buddhism. His academic papers have been published in the Asian Journal of Philosophy and Zeitschrift für Praktische Philosophie, and he has presented his research at academic conferences in Hong Kong, Scotland and Estonia. In addition, he promotes philosophical thinking on social media, encouraging people to discover the possibilities of life through philosophizing.
Ah Sing is also a freelance translator (German, Chinese, English, and Cantonese), and has collaborated with organisations such as the Centre of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Médecins Sans Frontières, Toolbox Percussion, Light On, among others.
In his free time, besides reading and learning, he enjoys hiking, social Latin dancing and playing board games.
