Joanne LIU

Joanne is currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Possessing a high interest in human-based care, she actively engages in various platforms to foster personal wellness and community connection.

Born and grown in the grassroots, she has a passionate heart to make a social impact by serving as a volunteer. She was a captain of her secondary school’s Volunteering Team, which advocates for the well-being of children during the pandemic. Apart from that, her rich experience in a Mongolia overseas service trip and as a committee member of Boundless student development programs and school career teams have been redeeming her promise to foster bright growth of grassroot youth from similar backgrounds.

To pursue the wellness of body, mind and spirit, she has developed an early interest in the rehabilitation field. Its nature to enlighten patients with humanistic care to rehabilitate aligns seamlessly with her vision. To motivate herself to learn beyond the textbook, she is currently a student research helper under a professor of Physiotherapy in PolyU. Her work in Kusala Education also renders her the privilege to network with different medical professionals, bridging her to a future stage of multidisciplinary collaboration.

Apart from serving, seeking internalized spiritual and cultural competence is also a valuable emphasis of Joanne. In 2024, she enhanced her understanding of Buddhism philosophy and meditation by joining the Awareness Training Programme in the Awareness Spiritual Growth Centre. Combining her prior experience in museum studies, literature writing and public speaking, she is developing herself as a competent youth who is able to present unique and constructive ideas with a humanistic perspective.
